Best places for sundowners in Cape Town

In Cape Town, during the summer, finding a local pub for sundowners is essential, whether you’re a local or a visitor. As Garden’s Centre Holiday Apartments are right in the heart of the city, we can’t offer you a view of the ocean, but we can help you decide where to go enjoy your cocktails during your next visit to Cape Town. So our recommendations are:

Blowfish Restaurant

Blowfish’s biggest appeal is the high quality seafood and of course, the amazing views across Table Bay. Set on Bloubergstrand looking back towards Table Mountain, enjoying the sunsets Cape Town is famous for doesn’t get better than from Blowfish. Combine that with easy accessibility from the city and the good selection of seafood and of course, sushi, on offer and Blowfish is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Camps Bay Strip

Locals and travellers alike flock to the strip along the main road of Camps Bay every summer for sundowners, and it’s very easy to see why once you arrive. One of the most famous beaches in the country, lined on the one side by the Atlantic and on the other by Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles, the scenery could not be more idyllic. Less than a 20 minute drive or cab ride from Garden’s Centre Holiday Apartments, if you love the beach and a vibrant atmosphere while sipping on cocktails, Camps Bay is a very easy choice.

Harvey’s Restaurant

Harvey’s is set in Winchester Heights on the Promenade in Sea Point. So you can enjoy a stroll along the coastline along the very popular promenade and end it off with a drink at Harvey’s. With a host of cocktails and bar snacks on the menu to choose from there is something for everyone, and the view, ambience and of course setting are all very, very hard to beat. It’s only a short journey from the Garden’s Centre Holiday Apartments, about 10 minutes by cab, so getting there and back is as simple as you like.

Those are some of our favourite spots for sundowners along the Atlantic Seaboard, so try to visit at least one of them this summer while you’re in Cape Town.
